This partially unglazed stoneware Mug is hand-built from off-white clay slab and adorned with freehanded carvings.
Each mug takes approximately 6 hours of work in total spread out over a month to achieve every step of the process (read more here).
Each piece is unique, glaze render will be different from one mug to the other and each piece will have little character traits that will make it entirely unique. Those can include (and are not limited to) : slight wonkiness, not exactly cylindrical, slight change in height and width, glaze running and/or mixing differently, hand carved drawing slightly different etc…
Glaze descriptions :
Plum Red : this rich glaze features deep maroon slightly translucent undertones that will cloud randomly during firing with a beautiful layer of mauve opaque micro-specks.
Glitter Mocha : this coffee-coloured translucent glaze varies in transparency depending on thickness, making it randomly look like deep chocolate or shiny caramel filled with a myriad of golden glittered specks all over.
Quail Egg : the glaze adorning the inside of the mug has an off-white matte base covered randomly with brown-black melted crystals.
