Have you heard of the Selkie, the legend of the Seal Woman? It is said she fell for a sailor on a Scottish shore and shed her seal coat to follow her lover inland, able to live a human life for 7 years until her people called her back to the sea where she belongs…
This illustration was originally hand drawn with a colour pencil of one single colour, all shades being achieved through different levels of pressure while drawing and from gently buffing the surface for a smooth finish.
